Meet Sarah Jo Crawford
Mental Health Advocate and creator of The Beloved Space
After a Bipolar II diagnosis and many failed attempts at making a traditional job fit my moods, I began exploring how to work despite my illness. While on this journey, I began writing over at The Beloved Space, where I shared what I was learning about taking care of myself. The love, support, and general interest sparked the idea to take my message of mental stability into the corporate world.
Many leaders want to create a comfortable work environment for their employees, whether it be through paid maternity leave, catered lunches, free gym memberships, or unlimited vacation, the intention is there. However, when the topic of depression or anxiety rises, many leaders find themselves at a loss for what to do.
While I’m not a mental health professional, I have worked with a licensed counselor to create materials for both leaders and employees to take the initiative to create a safe, sustainable, and supportive work and personal life.
